We welcome “Lily” for the romantic hit that it’s meant to be. A generational song that discusses love opens the door to being controversial. However, this is a piece that just wants the romance without worrying about the world around it. Martin is just trying to get her back. Lyrics like “We’re too young to work this hard, Drawing battle lines between the scars, Really I don’t wat us to be over” and “Lily, I’m barely hanging on, Was it too much to ask for love” examines a struggling relationship and the artist’s desire to make things right. There’s hope, right? Martin still has a chance, or at least, I want him to! And so will you at the end. So, press play on Francisco Martin and let the words of “Lily” tug at your heartstrings.
