3. Peace

Kace gives us a blast to the past in “Peace.”

In “Peace,” Kace tells personal stories that revolve around love, heartbreak, loyalty, and more. What stands out to me about the song is how focused he sounds throughout it. Kace plows through the soothing, impactful hip-hop beat, choosing to sound raw and authentic as opposed to trendy and dynamic. As a listener, I just felt like I was getting the purest version of his come-up story here.

2. All Fair

“All Fair” is all about lessons learned in love.

I need to get this out of the way immediately: I love the soulful, booming production that we get in this song. From there, I enjoy the sly style of rapping Kace relies on throughout, especially how it’s paired with his introspective lyrics that revolve around figuring his way around sticky situations regarding relationships. All in all, “All Fair” is a must-listen from this project.

1. Cynical

“Cynical” is a vibe and juicy as hell.

Trust me, “Cynical” is one of the best bangers on this project. First and foremost, listeners will enjoy the haunting trap beat that powers the song. It’s definitely some s**t that will calm your nerves. Kace approaches the beat perfectly. Not only does he hit us with a hypnotic hook, but he also hits us with these grungy raps that highlight his need for loyalty and hate for backstabbers. More than anything, as a listener, you will soak in Kace’s powerful words.

RGM RATING

(B)

I’ve always appreciated deep thinkers like Kace. In this Temporality album, he gives us his profound thoughts about a myriad of topics, such as love, heartbreak, and more.

First and foremost, I think this project boasts some great beats.  Most knock harder than Census workers, but at the same time, have these intoxicating elements that are easy to get lost in. The style of the beats allows Kace to come across as raw vocally. On the real, the production makes for one smooth/seamless listen.

I think Kace has fantastic rap skills. Not only do I love the flows that he usually toys with, but lowkey, he is more than capable of hitting us with clever punchlines (See “Kaizen”) and great wordplay (See all the songs). That said, what I appreciate most is how he simply gets lost in the beats he is handed. If one has a somber mood, he matches it. If one calls for him to turn up, he does just that. Kace is such an accommodating artist, right?

Do you know what this album feels like? A diary. In a world where they expect us black men to bottle up most of our emotions, Kace says, “f**k that,” and chooses to open up early and often. I recommend you note how he speaks about bettering himself, chasing his dreams, reaching his potential, and shutting down his naysayers. On some real s**t, Kace is all of us.
