Common Spits Godly Bars In “In Moe (Speculation)” With DJ Premier

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I totally forgot that Common is one of the best rappers of all time.

For those in the know, whenever DJ Premier graces a track, you can bet it’s going to be exceptional. This has been a consistent truth since the early ’90s when he was crafting beats for iconic rappers like Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Jay-Z, and others. The exciting news is that the Houston legend is still making waves even after all these years. His latest endeavor is a fresh single released last Friday, a collaboration with Common titled “In Moe (Speculation).”

My GOD, I forgot how good of a rapper Common is. Against the backdrop of a glimmery hip-hop beat curated by the maestro DJ Premier, the Chicago native graces us with verses that chronicle the victories he’s accumulated over the years, the betrayals he’s weathered, and his ascent to the pinnacle of rap artistry. The punchlines Common graces us with are astute, and each of his bars is delivered with pure mastery.

Sidenote: That Verizon commercial with Common is awful.
