Let’s be honest: Pink Tape was kind of mid. I feel like Lil Uzi Vert went wild experimenting on that project, resulting in many tracks that I simply didn’t connect with. Fortunately, Uzi is currently working on a new album, Luv Is Rage 3, and they have assured us that it will feature plenty of songs we’ll actually enjoy. Initially skeptical, I found myself excited about it after hearing their latest single, “Red Moon.”

“Red Moon” encapsulates precisely what I crave from Lil Uzi Vert. The track features a dreamy, atmospheric trap beat, and the Philly rapper engages with it dynamically, delivering vocals that range from laidback to passionate to fearless. Thematically, Uzi explores the oscillation between optimism and pessimism regarding the state of their current romantic relationship. In essence, I appreciate the vulnerability they display throughout the song, earnestly conveying that they experience heartbreak just like the rest of us mere mortals.

I predict that Luv Is Rage 3 will be a very special album.
