King Promise Wants To Fly Out To “Paris”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

There are musicians with universal appeal, although they’re rare to come by. King Promise is one of them. Born in Nunhua, Ghana, and now based in Accra, Promise has a charm that not only connects with African fans of Afropop and Afrobeats music but also resonates with music lovers worldwide. Appropriately, his latest single is titled “Paris.”

Contrary to popular belief, there are a lot of Ghanaians in Paris. My ex-girlfriend was a Ghanaian-Parisian. She spoke both French and Twi. Anywho, enough about me, let’s talk about the song. “Paris” is an uptempo, high-energy Afropop banger that showcases King Promise’s ability to make a woman feel a life of luxury beyond his home country of Ghana. What’s funny is that Promise’s vocals sometimes sound emotional, giving the impression of more money, more problems, but nope, he’s just bragging. At the end of the day, this song is too catchy, too authentic, and too good to ignore.

Give “Paris” a shot below.
