MGK and Fred Durst Unleash Rebellious Energy on “FIX UR FACE”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

If your neck hurts tomorrow, blame “FIX UR FACE”

MGK has fully embraced his alternative rock era. While there was once a time when fans expected him to spit bars over trap production, those days appear mostly behind him. Instead, he has found a lane where guitars, live drums, and rebellious energy now fuel his sound. Whether listeners love it or hate it, he sounds comfortable there. His latest single, “FIX UR FACE,” continues that direction with help from Fred Durst.

“FIX UR FACE” features hard-hitting, vintage-sounding rock production built to make listeners violently nod their heads until an Advil becomes necessary. MGK attacks the track with sharp, aggressive verses aimed at old heads, fake personalities, and anyone still expecting the previous version of him. He also makes it clear that the old MGK is gone for good.

Fred Durst plays the perfect supporting role here, adding ad-libs and hype-man presence that strengthen the record’s rebellious spirit. Interestingly, MGK’s cadence carries some of the same carefree aggression he brought into rap years ago, just translated through distorted guitars and crashing drums.

All in all, this is a rebellious banger from MGK that feels very natural.
