I’m beginning to wonder if Kanye West’s recent remarks hold some truth. During an interview with Justin LaBoy, Kanye mentioned that the industry is “excited to eliminate Drake.” While each rapper appears to have genuine grievances with the Canadian artist, the involvement of producers in endorsing these diss tracks is becoming concerning. The latest addition to the anti-Drake movement is Masego, who released a remix to Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” instrumental today.

Firstly, it’s worth noting that a producer releasing a diss track is uncommon. Secondly, it’s even more odd when a musician remixes an instrumental by incorporating additional instruments. That said, in this remix of “BBL Drizzy,” listeners are treted to a beautiful rendition featuring saxophone-inspired elements. As for why Masego might have issues with Drake, it’s unclear. They previously collaborated on Drake’s track “Champagne Poetry,” so the source of any discord is puzzling. Towards the end of the track, there’s a section with an old-ass singer who suggests Drake should stick to the pop genre and gives hints about financial matters. OK, I’m so f**king confused now.

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ms. Rachael comes out and disses Drake.
