Quavo Wants To “Clear The Smoke”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Quavo has actually had a pretty eventful 2024.

While Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s diss records towards each other top my list of best diss tracks of the year, don’t sleep on the diss record Quavo fired back at Chris Brown called “Over Hoes & Bitches.” Though I wasn’t particularly impressed with the disses themselves, I do believe the track is a hit. Perhaps it motivated Quavo to step up his game a bit, too? Today, the Migos member returned to the music scene with an explosive new single titled “Clear The Smoke.”

As usual, Quavo talks his s**t in “Clear The Smoke.” Throughout the track, which is propelled by an electrifying/dramatic beat, Quavo delves into topics such as his substantial bankroll, disdain for informants, and readiness for any kind of smoke, including carbon monoxide. While his verses come across as somewhat robotic and basic (seriously, what’s his obsession with trying to sound like The Terminator?), he absolutely nails the chorus, which blends seamlessly with the dynamic beat. Only the chorus will make me go back to this track.

No one other than the Cheetos man sounds like Quavo.
