Rating: 3 out of 5.I 100% didn’t see this collaboration coming.
Let’s be honest: Logic has completely fallen off the map. After releasing a few records that achieved major success on the Billboard charts, he decided to retire, and since then, he hasn’t been the same.
While I don’t think Logic’s rap skills have diminished, I do believe his purpose as a rapper has. It feels like he preaches s**t these days that doesn’t feel completely authentic to his soul. In an effort to get back on track, the Maryland rapper has returned to the music scene with a new single with DJ Drama called “Deja Vu.” (The snowball effect is heavy at play right now.)

In “Deja Vu,” Logic comes across as both cocky and over the hip-hop game. In his verses, he brings up going to therapy, feeling uninspired to release music, and wanting to spend more time with family. At the same time, he talks about driving in Maybachs and having diamonds on his neck that dance better than me when I’m off that Henny.
Logic’s flows in this track are undeniably great. The way he shifts gears over the quirky production is hella impressive. What I don’t love is the small part in the track in which he tries to prove that he was in the hood busting gats with the best of them. It just comes across as a little inauthentic (Hell, maybe he was, but that’s some s**t I choose never to believe).
I really wish Logic would take a normal route when he releases songs.
