BIA & JID Deliver Impressive Performances In “LIGHTS OUT”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I love this sound for BIA.

BIA has had an eventful past couple of days. Just a week ago, she got dissed by Cardi B in “Wanna Be (Remix).” A day later, she fired back with a so-so diss record called “SUE ME.” Today, BIA got back to peacefulness with the release of “LIGHTS OUT,” featuring JID.

I f**king love tracks like “LIGHTS OUT.” In it, you get introspective lyrics from BIA that speak of her determination to make it out of the hood, her confidence in her rap skills, and her appreciation for loyal individuals. JID also talks about getting it out of the mud, hitting us with a few bars here and there about slapping n***as up. I can always use content like this.

While BIA and JID’s rap verses are solid, I think the stars of the show are the production and BIA’s hook. The production is on some smooth, intergalactic s**t, while the hook is simple but invigorating. I honestly didn’t think BIA was capable of making a song like this.

Give “LIGHTS OUT” several shots below.
