KAYTRANADA & Maeta – Endless Nights (Album Review)

This is a sexy dance R&B project that is perfect for the summer.

3. Turn Me On

Is that Maeta or Mariah?

So, apparently, Maeta knows how to sing with high-pitch vocals, too. In “Turn Me On,” she brings those bad boys out, and the end result is a beautiful dance track that will have you moonwalking to the nearest bedroom in sight.

2. DJ Got Me

Cheers to all of the DJs who save lives!

“DJ Got Me” boasts a KAYTRANADA beat that will feel like punches to your ears. It features enough spellbinding vibes to make a positive impact, though.

While I’m not always a fan of repetitive hooks, in this case, it works well. The best part of “DJ Got Me” is Maeta’s hook, where she sings repeatedly, “Last night a DJ saved my life.” (I told y’all to go to the club with a broken heart. It fixes things.)

1. Endless Nights

Having an endless night sounds good in theory…

We get Maeta’s most passionate and wide-ranging vocal performance on this project in Endless Nights. I absolutely love how she begs her partner not to mess up her vibes as she tries to enjoy her night as much as possible (I’ve been there before). Accompanying Maeta’s performance is one of the sliest KAYTRANADA beats on this album.

RGM RATING

(B+) (86%)

I’m interested in anything Kaytranada touches (Pause). His latest endeavor is a joint album with up-and-coming Indiana singer Maeta. Together, they created Endless Nights, a seven-track project.

Endless Nights delivers thrilling dance vibes in various forms, along with lyrics that are both liberating and vulnerable. Maeta’s soulful vocal performances, combined with Kaytranada’s production, create an immersive experience that aims to elevate the senses. Together, they are a match made in heaven.
