Trippie Redd Calls Himself The “Bando Kid”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Is Trippie Redd back?

I haven’t downloaded a Trippie Redd song to my iTunes library in a while. Though he’s his usual unchained self these days, something about his music isn’t clicking with me. That said, Trippie’s music is still worth checking out.

Believe it or not, Trippie Redd hasn’t had a quiet 2024. He’s released several collaboration singles with various artists and a collaborative album with MGK titled Lost Boys. Today, he returns to the music scene with a new single called “Bando Kid.”

Trippie Redd goes full-blown rock star in “Bando Kid.” Over a fiery rock beat, the Ohio native employs a roaring rap style to talk about his reckless life, including lean sipping, brawls, and large orders at IHOP. He also pays homage to fallen rap rockstars like Juice WRLD and XXXTENTACION. While the beat could use a bit more oomph, a bright spot is Trippie’s catchy hook. In fact, that’s what will keep you coming back to this track.
