Lawrence Steven Has “polaroids”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

“poloraids” is a picture-perfect single for the summer.

Rising singer and songwriter LAWRENCE STEVEN blends his lush, minimalist sound with trap to offer a fresh take on trap-R&B. He recently debuted with the single “Wasted” and has followed up with “polaroids,” a track that finds Lawrence reflecting nostalgically rather than confronting the harsh reality of the present.

In “polaroids,” Lawrence reflects on the remnants of his past relationship, capturing the emotional fallout between him and his ex. While she’s moved on and left his games behind, Lawrence finds himself clinging to memories, using material distractions to cope. Through the track, he acknowledges that it’s okay to look back, but ultimately, acceptance and moving on are necessary.

‘This gentle trap-R&B tune boasts gentle, passionate vocals that will strike a chord with you, a feverish tempo, these glimmery elements that I love, and a rap verse that is pretty hard. All in all, “polaroids” is a hit.
