Dahi looks like a cross between Joey Bada$$, Tyler, The Creator, and Yasiin Bey.

I’d be completely lying to you if I told you I’ve been following Dahi all these years. However, I’m a really bad clout-chaser, so seeing Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Vince Staples on his new Black Boy Alternative project was enough to make me press play.

Dahi’s production gets the job done, point blank period. The instrumentals feel pure, carefully crafted, and magical, making for a body of work that feels refreshing as hell, especially considering I just reviewed a chaotic Ken Carson project.

And while I named the big names, I have to give plenty of credit to everyone else who blended beautifully with Dahi’s production. French Anthony, Channel Tres, Mez, Kurtis Wells, and the other contributors all delivered strong performances, while Kendrick and Vince give the album some familiarity and an extra punch. Respectfully, I can see a bunch of modern rappers being denied at the door if they tried to hop on this s**t.

Certain projects belong behind glass so they don’t get dusty or smudged. This is one of those projects. If I reviewed it, I’d probably give it an A.
