Can Joe Jonas “Work it Out?”

Joe Jonas is getting personal with his first solo album in 13 years, releasing the single “Work It Out” on July 19th.

Jonas originally intended the songs for a full Jonas Brothers album, but he felt a strong personal connection to the tracks and wanted to rediscover himself. He said, “I was listening to it, and I was like, ‘Damn, I really like this song,’ and started to feel like I don’t know why, but I want this song for myself — not just the Brothers.”

After receiving the approval and blessing of his brothers, Jonas locked himself away and created what he described as a “deeply personal album.” On Instagram, Jonas wrote, “I’m both excited and emotional as I’m gearing up to release new music.”

I am currently going through a bit of a turbulent time, so I look forward to listening to Joe’s emotional journey. While I haven’t experienced anything similar to what he went through, I can relate to creating art that holds personal meaning, especially with my webcomics and other personal projects.

The new album follows his recent divorce from Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner last year and will be released later this year, though Jonas hasn’t disclosed an exact date yet.
