6ix9ine Proves He’s Unkillable With “Wassup”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

It looks like 6ix9ine is sporting a new haircut. Cool.

Remember when 6ix9ine was on top of the world, looking down on everyone else? Feels like an eternity ago. His career took a noticeable hit after he allegedly cooperated with authorities to reduce his jail sentence by testifying against former associates. Since then, his once-dominant presence in the industry has faded, and many of his recent releases felt more like contractual obligations than genuine artistic expressions. These days, 6ix9ine is harder to find in the music scene—more elusive than Waldo—leaving many to question the direction of his career.

During his semi-hiatus, 6ix9ine surprised fans with a project titled BLACKBALLED. Though it flew under the radar, it turned out to be a solid effort, showcasing his evolving artistry. Now, he’s returned with a new single, “Wassup,” further demonstrating his musical progression.

In “Wassup,” 6ix9ine taunts his enemies, calls on women to dance provocatively, and brags about his luxurious lifestyle. The track features a booming, club-ready beat that’s undeniably catchy, serving as a strong foundation for his sharpened melodic rap style. His flow is tight, his delivery is clearer than in past tracks, and he avoids the usual gibberish. Plus, the infectious hook adds to the track’s replay value—showing that, musically at least, he’s leveled up. But as expected… no one seems to care.

Can 6ix9ine make another run?
