Mary J. Blige Says “You Ain’t The Only One”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Mary J. Blige has some encouraging words for us all.

When the dust settles, Mary J. Blige might be remembered as the greatest R&B singer of all time. Not only is her voice iconic, but her longevity in the industry is undeniable. Recently, Mary hinted that her upcoming album might be her last, which means we could be in for some truly legendary music. This past weekend, she dropped a new single called “You Ain’t The Only One,” offering a taste of what could be an unforgettable final chapter in her career.

In “You Ain’t The Only One,” Mary J. Blige lets listeners know that she’s been through the same struggles we all face. Particularly, she reflects on moments of doubt and feeling worn out from constantly fighting for her happiness. The track is carried by a piano-driven, old-school beat that gives it a timeless feel. While Mary’s voice sounds a bit fatigued on the track, there’s an undeniable authenticity in her tone—like she’s genuinely not faking her despair.

I thought Mary J. Blige said she was done with the drama? I guess there’s no way she cannot be.
