3. Let It Go Baby
This song perfectly describes what Lil Tjay is on these days.
In “Let It Go Baby,” Lil Tjay reflects on the challenges he’s faced over the years, the expensive lifestyle he’s come to enjoy, and his journey of rising above the streets. He also makes it clear that he’s staying vigilant, keeping his head on a swivel to prevent anyone who wishes him harm from getting too close.
If you’re a true Lil Tjay fan, this track will resonate with you. For first-time listeners, though, it might not leave the strongest impression. Personally, I appreciate the introspective bars he delivers and the raw emotions he conveys through his melancholic rap vocals. However, his performance sometimes feels a bit uninspired, almost as if he’s going through the motions. That said, it’s still a decent listen overall.
2. Why (Ft. NLE Choppa)
Lil Tjay and NLE Choppa might be two of the most erratic jits in the hip-hop game today.
Lil Tjay and NLE Choppa are on the same page in this track. Both agree that money, women, and fame are what they enjoy chasing, while, at the same time, they talk about potentially sending shots at their enemies. What I think is dope is that the song features dramatic production that fits both of their styles: Tjay’s whiny style and NLE’s rugged, aggressive rap style.
1. Good Life
Tell me one track called “Good Life” that is bad.
Interestingly, “Good Life” is powered by a gentle, emotional beat that gives me Rod Wave vibes. Could you imagine if he were featured on this track? Anyway, there are several reasons why I think “Good Life” is the standout track on this project. First and foremost, I appreciate that we don’t get an overly whiny version of Tjay here; instead, he raps with a bit more aggression and grit. Additionally, the chorus is a highlight—it blends a touch of street authenticity, a feverish flow, and catchy moments. Honestly, this is the one track from the project I would download.
