The Weeknd’s Upcoming Movie “Hurry Up” Finally Gets a Release Date | RGM News

This movie needs to hurry up!

Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye is no stranger to hitting major milestones—whether it’s racking up an average of 120 million streams on Spotify, collaborating with top-tier artists, or releasing chart-topping tracks. Now, he’s stepping into the world of cinema with his new movie, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which shares its title with his upcoming sixth studio album.

The film boasts an impressive cast, including The Weeknd himself, Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and Gabby Barrett in her acting debut. Directed by Trey Edward Shults—acclaimed for Waves and It Comes at Night under A24—the movie will be distributed by Lionsgate, setting high expectations for this exciting new chapter in The Weeknd’s career.

On social media, it was announced that Hurry Up Tomorrow will hit theaters on May 16, 2025. As mentioned earlier, the film shares its title with The Weeknd’s upcoming album, set to drop a few months earlier on January 24, 2025. What makes this project even more exciting is the synergy between the two—new music from the album will feature in the movie.

Just as I’m hyped for the album, I’m equally curious about what the film has in store. Fun fact: May 16 is a Friday, so you can look forward to the inevitable dad jokes about watching it on The Weeknd!
