Drake Hints At Getting Active Again

It looks like Drake’s battery is fully charged now.

On Friday afternoon, just as we were all recovering from New Year’s festivities, a surprise Drake freestyle dropped on streaming services. Though not an official release (it was part of a longer video from Conductor Williams), the freestyle showcased Drake’s sharp pen game as he vented about backstabbers—including LeBron James.

Apparently, the buzz surrounding the freestyle reignited his fire. Last night, Drake took to Instagram to announce that he’s “ready to get active again,” bringing along Stake and his alter ego, Anita Max. It seems 2025 is off to a fiery start for Champagne Papi.

Drake had an incredibly impressive year in 2024 despite not releasing an album. He was crowned the most-streamed rapper of the year by Spotify, and it was recently announced that he sold the most album units for a rapper in 2024.

Most likely, Drake’s announcement is related to placing more wagers through his partnership with Stake. However, the hip-hop fan in me hopes he’s hinting at getting back in the studio to release a hardcore hip-hop album full of sneak disses and more. Whatever the case may be, I’m here for competitive Drake.
