Lil Nas X Drops Highly-Anticipated Single “DREAMBOY”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Lil Nas X slid on this track.

If Drake called Lil Nas X part of the Big 3, it wouldn’t be far-fetched. While he may not be the most celebrated lyricist, his music sells—and in massive numbers. With five songs surpassing a billion streams on Spotify, his commercial dominance is undeniable.

After months of silence following last year’s “need that boy,” Lil Nas X is finally back with “DREAMBOY,” a track that has been highly anticipated by fans. In this song, he channels Andre 3000, embracing his southern twang as he confidently raps about the type of men he prefers, his success, and how he kept dreaming big even in tough times.

Despite the track’s gentle, piano-driven instrumental—reminiscent of something you’d hear in Glee—Lil Nas X delivers his bars with aggressive energy, showing hunger and determination. However, his smooth and melodic chorus softens the intensity, creating a balanced and engaging listening experience.
