I would’ve given it one more star if this track were called “iPhone Screens.”
The Texas hip-hop scene is going through a rollercoaster of emotions. While rising stars from Houston and Dallas continue to make waves, tragedy has also struck the community. Last week, rapper Sauce Walka and his artist Sayso P were shot during a visit to Memphis, Tennessee. Though Sauce Walka survived with non-life-threatening injuries, Sayso tragically lost his life. However, the incident hasn’t slowed down Sauce Walka’s grind, as he returns with a new single, “Samsung Screenz,” featuring That Mexican OT.
In “Samsung Screenz,” Sauce Walka delivers raw and heartfelt bars, reflecting on his tough upbringing, his code of loyalty, personal struggles, and the harsh realities of the streets. Meanwhile, That Mexican OT brings a completely different energy, spitting fast-paced bars about women, luxury cars, and dealing with newfound haters. Their contrasting tones make for an engaging and dynamic collaboration.
What makes “Samsung Screenz” truly stand out is its balance of elements. The production is smooth and soulful, setting the perfect backdrop for Sauce Walka’s deeply emotional delivery and That Mexican OT’s energetic flow. The track captures both pain and resilience, making it a compelling listen for hip-hop fans.
Press play on “Samsung Screenz” and witness the passion and authenticity that Sauce Walka and That Mexican OT bring to the game.
