Duckwrth’s newest album is a rollercoaster.

Duckwrth released his newest album, All American F*ckboy, at the beginning of April, and if I’m being honest? It has recently become one of my favorite albums.

Aside from “Kiss U Right Now,” I wasn’t very familiar with Duckwrth prior to this album drop. However, my partner has been obsessed with the artist lately, so when the album was released on April 2nd, he was quick to ask if I’d be listening and reviewing the tracks.

When I listened to the album for the first time, I immediately understood the hype. The tracklist tells a story, complete with narrated chapter marks, about the evolution of a man navigating his current romantic life. Topics of infidelity, relationship problems, and internal conflict are explored as you move through each track. The story has many twists and turns, and like a good book or movie, the album draws you in and keeps you hooked the whole way through.

In the third and final chapter of the album comes the track “I’m Really Changing,” featuring artist Sherwyn. The track is essentially an apology and a plea rolled into one. Duckwrth (spoiler alert) speaks to the woman he was unfaithful to earlier in the album, admitting his wrongdoings and trying to win her back. He talks about things like meditation, giving her full access to his phone and socials—just doing whatever it takes to prove that he’s changed. He’s fighting to get her back.

Overall, this track is both catchy and unique. The tempo isn’t too fast or too slow, making it easy to sway along to. Sherwyn’s soulful, crooning chorus pairs beautifully with Duckwrth’s funky flow. It’s the kind of song that’ll be stuck in your head for days after hearing it for the first time.
