Didn’t Young Thug make “Tha Carter 6” already?
The greatest hip-hop series ever? It might just be Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter saga. Starting in 2004 with the original Tha Carter, the iconic series is now set to receive its sixth chapter—Tha Carter VI—a full 22 years later. And yes, thank God for the era that taught us Roman numerals.
Although Wayne has teased Tha Carter VI in the past, today’s announcements made everything feel official. The Young Money rapper revealed that he will be celebrating the album’s release with a special concert at New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden. Alongside the event news, he also dropped the album’s official cover art: a childhood photo of Wayne, complete with face tattoos—a nod to the evolution of his persona.

While no singles have dropped yet, the rumored feature list for the album is raising eyebrows. Names like Machine Gun Kelly, Wyclef Jean, Miley Cyrus, Elephant Man, and Bono have all surfaced, hinting at a project that might be as unpredictable as it is iconic.
Regardless of how he rolls it out, one thing is for sure—when Tha Carter VI drops, all we really want is to hear Wayne spit.
