3. RED EYE
On “RED EYE,” NAV goes completely left-field—and honestly, it works. The track kicks off with a random “burr” ad-lib that sets the playful tone, and from there, NAV leans into a performance that feels heavily inspired by Lil Uzi Vert on the verses and Playboi Carti on the chorus.
Lyrically, NAV keeps it light and celebratory, talking about stiff-arming his haters, taking red-eye trips, and thoroughly enjoying the fruits of his hard work. His delivery is animated yet smooth, showing a more carefree side we don’t always get from him.
While it might feel like a slight detour from NAV’s usual moody, self-reflective sound, “RED EYE” is a refreshing, energetic listen that’s easy to keep on repeat.
2. POTHOLES
Am I an a**hole for liking NAV most when he sounds absolutely miserable? If so, “POTHOLES” is a track I proudly love.
Built on a moody, atmospheric instrumental, the song finds NAV in full emotional spiral mode. He opens up about wanting to be left alone, grinding through internal struggles, feeling underappreciated, and questioning whether all his hard work is even worth it. It’s not a motivational anthem—it’s a self-aware, sonic sigh.
NAV delivers all this through a whiny, melodic rap style that somehow fits the somber tone perfectly. It walks a fine line between compelling and exhausting—like if your significant other was singing their emotional baggage at you in autotune. (“You don’t think I’m pretty…” “Why didn’t you take the trash out?”)
Still, it works. “POTHOLES” is a painfully relatable listen that captures the sad-boy energy NAV has mastered—and for fans of that sound, it hits every mark.
1. GLOBE
Don’t you hate when your favorite song on a project is also the shortest? That’s exactly how I feel about NAV’s “GLOBE.” It might be brief, but it packs a punch.
The track checks every box: it blends cocky and humble lyrics with ease, rides a hypnotic, synth-heavy trap beat, and features one of the most infectious choruses on the OMW2 REXDALE (Deluxe) project. NAV’s flow is dynamic throughout, shifting gears effortlessly between reflection and flex.
In just a short run-time, “GLOBE” manages to showcase NAV at his most polished—melodic, moody, confident, and catchy. To me, it’s the highlight of the entire album.

After all these years of listening to NAV, I can confidently say I know which versions of him I prefer—and luckily, OMW2 REXDALE (Deluxe) gives you a few to choose from.
To be honest, I thought the project was going to fall flat after the first two tracks. “GET U BACK” and “NUMBER 1 FAN” felt slow and overly sentimental, leaning into R&B territory that didn’t quite suit NAV’s strengths. The pacing dragged, and I was worried the rest of the project would follow suit.
But then came “GLOBE”—and everything changed.
From that point forward, NAV hits a much better stride. The energy picks up, the hooks become catchier, and he leans into the flex-heavy, melodic trap sound that fans love. What follows is a mix of introspection and confidence, woven through dynamic flows and emotionally-charged production.
While not every song is a standout, the deluxe offers a surprising amount of replay value, especially once the tempo kicks in. NAV experiments more, taps into different moods, and delivers tracks that hit both sonically and lyrically.
All in all, OMW2 REXDALE (Deluxe) is an enjoyable listen.
