Busta Rhymes, Joey Bada$$, Papoose & More Drop Fiery “New York Knicks Anthem (Remix)”

The Knicks may be down 3-1, but New York pride is alive and loud thanks to a star-studded remix featuring Joey Bada$$, Busta Rhymes, and more.

The New York Knicks are currently battling the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals, trailing 3-1 in the series. While the odds are stacked against them, Knicks fans remain as optimistic—and delulu—as ever. That unshakable pride just got an anthem to match.

Last night, a crew of NYC rap heavyweights dropped “New York Knicks Anthem (Remix),” a track that brings together Joey Bada$$, Busta Rhymes, Papoose, Nems, Swizz Beatz, and DJ Scratch to salute their squad. Built on the classic instrumental from Busta Rhymes’ 2006 “New York Shit” off The Big Bang, this remix is gritty, nostalgic, and full of that unmistakable New York swagger.

Lyrically, the rappers pour love into the city and the team, name-dropping their favorite Knicks players and this current gritty, underdog squad. Busta Rhymes sounds like he just recovered from a chest cold but is still in rare form. Papoose delivers from what feels like a payphone in Flatbush. Joey Bada$$ exudes effortless confidence, probably because he just won a one-on-twenty fade against the entire West Coast. Nems sounds absolutely ravenous, repping Coney Island pride with every bar.

Swizz Beatz and DJ Scratch’s contributions give the remix its iconic bounce and raw energy, blending Knicks nostalgia with NYC’s undying hip-hop bravado.

I really feel like the New York Knicks are America’s team.
