50 Cent Is Playing Balrog in the New Street Fighter Movie—Yes, Seriously

50 Cent shines in roles where he’s allowed to kick someone’s ass.

Do you know what’s wild? If you were born after 2022, you probably don’t even think of 50 Cent as a rapper—you know him as an actor, producer, or the mastermind behind Power and BMF. Between his breakout role in Get Rich or Die Tryin’, producing TV hits, and launching a new studio in Louisiana (with alleged help from Rick Ross, of all people), 50 has been on a serious Hollywood grind.

Now, he’s adding another major credit to his acting résumé—50 Cent has been cast as Balrog in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie.

Yes, that Balrog—the underused, hard-hitting boxer from the video games. If you’re a Street Fighter OG, you know exactly how deep that nostalgia hits.

The rest of the cast is equally stacked:

  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
  • Noah Centineo as Ken
  • Country singer Orville Peck as Vega
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li
  • Andrew Koji as Ryu
  • WWE star Roman Reigns as Akuma

With a lineup like this, it’s clear they’re swinging for the fences.

Mortal Kombat has 24 hours to respond. It might be time to claim Ja Rule off waivers.
