Rod Wave returns Friday with “Don’t Look Down,” his first project since “Last Lap” and another major moment for the star.

Rod Wave has officially announced that Don’t Look Down will arrive this Friday, and judging by the tracklist, he isn’t exactly showing up empty-handed. The upcoming project contains 24 songs, making it his first major release since Last Lap and one of the more anticipated hip-hop albums on the immediate horizon.

The tracklist includes “Summer Joy Intro” featuring Summer Joy, “I Am,” “Piece of Your Love,” “Hustle,” “Look at Me Mama,” “Feed the Streets,” “War Wounds,” “Venusian,” “TP,” “Keep Dancing,” “One More Time,” “Overrated,” “Lost & Insecure,” “Florida Boy,” “Dope Girl,” “Take Care,” “All I Ever Had,” and “Toast.” Luv Von also appears on “Mainstay.”

Rod Wave has reached a point where his albums automatically generate significant anticipation. He’s undeniably one of the hottest hip-hop artists in the world right now, and his ability to connect with listeners through vulnerable, emotional music has helped turn each release into an event.

Don’t Look Down also comes at a complicated time personally. Rod is currently facing potential jail time over a shooting incident in April 25 in Atlanta, which adds another layer of attention to everything surrounding the album.
