Doja Cat’s “Vie” Projected to Debut at No. 5 on Billboard 200 with 59k Units

Doja Cat’s latest album Vie is making its presence felt on the Billboard 200.

Doja Cat is about to notch another Billboard 200 entry, this time with her new album Vie. According to Hits Daily Double, the project is projected to debut at No. 5 with around 59,000 units in its first week, including 25,000 pure sales. While not her highest first-week number, it still places her comfortably inside the Top 5.

Vie is different from Doja’s last two projects. Instead of leaning into rap-heavy sounds like Scarlet, this one taps into vintage pop aesthetics, giving it a distinct throwback feel. Songs like “Gorgeous” and “Take Me Dancing” have been standouts, showcasing a lighter and more melodic side of Doja that fans weren’t necessarily expecting.

For perspective, Planet Her opened with 109,000 copies back in 2021, while Scarlet sold 72,000 copies in its first week in 2023. That puts Vie somewhere in the middle—strong enough to show her fanbase is still locked in, but also signaling a shift in how her experimental direction is being received commercially.

On the charts, Doja will land ahead of Young Thug but just behind Mariah Carey’s Here For It All and Cardi B’s AM I THE DRAMA?. Either way, Doja’s versatility keeps her in the mix, proving she still knows how to spark conversation.
