Nini Iris is Empowered in “U CAN’T CONTROL ME”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

From “The Voice” to your playlist.

The young and gifted Nini Iris first captured hearts during The Voice: Season 24, where she earned a spot as a Top 3 Finalist in Georgia and a Top 9 Finalist overall.

With captivating covers of artists like Billie Eilish and Radiohead, Nini quickly became known for her emotional delivery and undeniable stage presence.

Her latest single, “U CAN’T CONTROL ME,” showcases that same commanding energy but with an edgier, more self-assured twist.

Nini’s vocals take full control of the track — powerful, expressive, and laced with attitude. The song radiates defiance, rejecting control and embracing freedom with every lyric. While it gave me a touch of Disney Channel nostalgia — think “Calling All the Monsters” by China Anne McClain (and yes, that’s a compliment) — Nini makes it entirely her own. It’s a soulful, fiery anthem driven by her voice and backed by an infectious rhythm and pulsing drums.
