Nova Late pours raw emotion into his new single “Marlboro White,” unpacking demons, late-night battles, and numbing stress over a melancholic pop-trap beat with irresistibly catchy melodies.
Nova Late is my kind of artist. Sure, the melodies are sharp, sticky, and memorable, and yes, he crafts music that pulls you in. But what sets him apart is his intention — you can hear it in every lyric. Nova makes music for people who want to feel something.
Earlier this year, he dropped his 14-track project Before I Crash, a body of work packed with emotion and atmosphere. Not long after, he followed up with a striking new single titled “Marlboro White.”
In “Marlboro White,” Nova Late opens the door to the battles he’s been fighting behind the scenes. He reflects on the demons he can’t outrun, the heavy nights that linger long after sunrise, and the cigarettes he uses to quiet the pressure momentarily. Fear, paranoia, and regret spill through the track with unsettling clarity — yet it’s presented in a way that feels both personal and universal.
The production leans into a melancholic pop-trap soundscape, built on gloomy tones that make you feel every word while still giving you something to nod your head to. Nova’s vocal performance is solemn and emotionally charged, capturing the weight of his experiences. And then there’s the melody: infectious, haunting, and damn near impossible to shake.
All in all, “Marlboro White” is an unbelievably good banger — one that hits you in the chest while still delivering the kind of replay-ready hook Nova is becoming known for. Give the track a shot below.
