Toria Rainey Faces the Past on “Bicycle Boy”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Toria Rainey delivers hypnotic vocals and raw emotion on her powerful new single “Bicycle Boy.”

Toria Rainey is far from your average artist. Yes, she can belt with the best in her lane, but what truly separates her is the way she tells stories. There is something theatrical yet deeply personal about her songwriting, paired with an eccentric musical approach that makes each release feel unique. She already has several gems in her catalog, including “Love U More” and “Cowboy Song,” and now she adds another standout with her latest single, “Bicycle Boy.”

“Bicycle Boy” feels like a coming-of-age record in the most haunting sense. The instrumental is soothing and bright with a steady tempo that gives her voice room to bloom. Her vocal performance is hypnotic and soul-stirring, pulling you in gently before the weight of the lyrics fully settles.

Lyrically, the track confronts the lingering trauma of an abusive relationship. Toria expresses anger and unresolved pain while questioning whether the person who hurt her feels any remorse. It is reflective, vulnerable, and Frank Ocean-Esque. These are the kinds of thought-provoking songs that stay with you long after the final note fades.
