The third studio album ends a historic streak — here’s how “ASTROWORLD” reshaped rap during its 7-year chart reign.

After more than seven consecutive years on the chart, ASTROWORLD — the third studio album from Travis Scott — has officially fallen off the Billboard 200 this week. The departure marks the end of a remarkable run for an album that redefined what a blockbuster hip-hop record could be.

Released in 2018, ASTROWORLD debuted at No. 1 with 537,000 album-equivalent units (270,000 pure sales), the second biggest opening week of the year. The album launched Scott’s second consecutive chart-topping record, following 2016’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.

ASTROWORLD delivered an unforgettable tracklist of 17 songs, including standout hits like “Sicko Mode,” “Stargazing,” “Stop Trying to Be God,” “No Bystanders,” “Yosemite,” “Skeletons,” “Wake Up,” “5% Tint,” “Astrothunder,” “Butterfly Effect,” “Houstonfornication,” “Coffee Bean,” “NC-17,” “R.I.P. Screw,” and “Can’t Say.” and “Who? What!” featuring a range of guest appearances from stars like Drake, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Stevie Wonder, James Blake, Gunna, Juice WRLD, Swae Lee and others.

Nearly every track charted on the Hot 100, and the album’s fusion of psychedelic, trap-infused energy, melodic experimentation, and star-studded features helped shift the sound of mainstream hip-hop. Over the years, ASTROWORLD maintained strong streaming momentum, which is hella impressive given how much music people consume today.

Now that it’s off the chart, ASTROWORLD leaves behind a legacy — not just as a massive commercial success, but as an album that reshaped the modern rap landscape and demonstrated the power of La Flame.
