June Drops Addictive New Dance-Pop Single “Reckless”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Why do we always go back to the person who adds empty calories to our diet?

June is really in her bag right now. What I love most about the Houston singer-songwriter is that, while she has a genuinely powerful voice, she doesn’t limit herself to soul-crushing ballads. She knows how to have fun with it, and over the past few years she’s leaned comfortably into dance-pop elements without losing her identity. Her latest single, “Reckless,” is proof of that balance — and it’s a blast.

On “Reckless,” June sings about a relationship that’s messy and unpredictable, but addicting all the same. No matter how chaotic things get, there’s something about their touch and their words that keeps pulling her back for more (On some Chingy and Tyrese s**t). The production is gorgeous, blending warm soul textures with a frantic, dance-floor-ready pulse that practically dares you to move.

Vocally, June melts into the beat. She delivers a passionate performance while gliding effortlessly over the instrumental, anchoring the song with a hook that’s dangerously intoxicating. Everything about “Reckless” feels effortless, fun, and replay-ready.

All in all, this track is straight-up irresistible.
