Spotify celebrates 20 years with massive all-time streaming rankings.
Spotify has officially pulled back the curtain on some historic numbers in celebration of the platform’s 20th anniversary, unveiling its all-time most streamed artists, albums, and songs. The rankings offer a fascinating snapshot of who truly dominated the streaming era and which releases became permanent fixtures in playlists across the world.
Leading the way in the artist category is Taylor Swift, whose relentless output, loyal fanbase, and record-breaking eras helped push her to the top spot. Right behind her is Bad Bunny, whose global dominance and genre-shifting success made him one of streaming’s biggest powerhouses. Drake lands at number three, proving his consistency across more than a decade. The Weeknd takes fourth, while Ariana Grande rounds out the top five.
When it comes to albums, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti claims the crown. The project became a worldwide soundtrack and one of the defining releases of the decade. The Weeknd’s Starboy lands at number two, followed by Ed Sheeran’s ÷ at three. Olivia Rodrigo’s breakout album, SOUR, takes fourth, while The Weeknd appears again with After Hours at number five.
As for songs, The Weeknd’s unstoppable “Blinding Lights” sits at number one, which should surprise nobody. The record has become one of the most successful pop songs ever made. Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” follows at two, while The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather” continues its legendary streaming run at three. “Starboy” by The Weeknd and Daft Punk lands at four, with Harry Styles’ “As It Was” securing the fifth spot.
Overall, the rankings show one clear truth: streaming changed the music business forever, and these artists found ways to rule the new kingdom.
