French Montana Bets on Nostalgia With “Bet It All” Featuring Max B & Chase Belly

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This song is horrible in the most enjoyable way possible.

French Montana has built a career on making records that feel effortless. Whether he is delivering club anthems, street records, or melodic collaborations, the Bronx rapper has always understood vibe above all else. On his latest single, “Bet It All,” he taps into that formula once again while bringing Max B and Chase Belly along for the ride.

“Bet It All” is powered by a beat that blends club-ready bounce with dreamy, heavenly textures (it kind of reminds me of Pac’s “Changes” beat) that make it feel like you might see some thugs with wings flying outside your house. Over it, you get some truly horrendous singing by both Chase Belly and Max B as they talk about fried chicken and loose women. As for French Montana, he provides the structure here, sliding through with a steady flow and bars built to keep listeners moving. He feels like the anchor in the middle of the madness.

All in all, is this the most polished track? No. Is it a fun as hell train wreck with a bunch of random effects and vocals? Yes.
