Young Nudy Floats Through Heavy Bass on “Ya Dig”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Young Nudy has to be the most even-kill ninja in the game.

One thing about Young Nudy is that you almost always know exactly what you are getting when he drops music. Hard bars, a super steady flow, and production heavy enough to knock cereal boxes off the top of your refrigerator. On “Ya Dig,” he sticks closely to that formula, and it doesn’t fail.

The track is driven by a hard-hitting, bass-loaded beat that has these synths that I f**king love. The production has enough punch to carry the whole song on its own, but Nudy slides across it with ease. Lyrically, he talks about riding with killers, wiping noses, taking women that aren’t his, and staying ready for whatever problems might come his way.

Nudy raps with an unbothered tone throughout the track, almost like making music is just something he casually does between errands. Overall, “Ya Dig” feels more like a glorified freestyle than a fully structured single, but that loose energy is part of its charm.
