RayXØ sounds completely at home experimenting outside traditional R&B lanes on “Need You Now.”
RayXØ refuses to box himself into one sound, and that’s probably his biggest strength.
The dude can flat-out sing, but what makes him interesting is how willing he is to experiment with different styles and production choices. On “Need You Now,” he jumps on top of a Jersey Club beat and gives it exactly the kind of emotion it needs.
The instrumental has a slick, hypnotic bounce, balancing sensuality with enough energy to shake up a room full of people two drinks deep. RayXØ matches that vibe perfectly, delivering vocals filled with longing and urgency while sounding completely consumed by the person he’s singing about.
Overall, “Need You Now” feels like the perfect collision between smooth R&B and party music. You may have to inject this s**t through my veins.
