RJmrLA sounds completely at home on “MR. LA II.”
My appreciation for West Coast hip-hop has probably increased tenfold since moving out West. Something about hearing those records while driving through the city before the weather turns into an air fryer experience just hits differently. RJmrLA understands that energy completely, and MR. LA II feels designed specifically for those moments.
The album features appearances from heavy West Coast names like The Game, Ty Dolla $ign, Kalan.FrFr, Joe Moses, and others, helping reinforce how connected the project feels to LA culture. Production-wise, RJ doesn’t settle for one lane either. You get sunny, feel-good records, but also darker street production, club-ready moments, nostalgic old-school influences, and polished modern West Coast sounds.
RJmrLA sounds fully locked in across the project, delivering animated performances with confidence and charisma. Whether he’s talking slick, motivating listeners, or simply flexing his city pride, he sounds like someone carrying the West Coast flag proudly. MR. LA II ends up feeling both like a celebration of LA and a reminder that this sound still has plenty of life left in it.
