Rory continues his streak of excellent collaborations with “STILL BE MINE.”
One thing Rory understands better than most is how to bring artists together. His catalog is filled with collaborations that shouldn’t work as seamlessly as they do, yet somehow always find the perfect balance. That’s exactly what happens on “STILL BE MINE.”
Driven by warm basslines, honeyed vocals, rhythmic grooves, and lush neo-soul textures, the track immediately wraps listeners in a rich atmosphere. The production feels chill and flowery, but there’s enough depth in the layered instrumentation to keep uncovering new details with every listen.
Lyrically, Lucky Daye and BLK ODYSSY tackle a relationship strained by repeated mistakes and broken promises. Both artists focus on accountability, reflecting on how saying “this is the last time” only matters if real change follows. It’s a relatable concept that hits even harder because of the sincerity in their performances.
BLK ODYSSY brings a deep vocal approach that feels emotional and euphoric all at once. Meanwhile, Lucky Daye counters with a more traditional R&B style filled with passion, charisma, and subtle energy.
Overall, “STILL BE MINE” is glossy, quirky, soulful, and real as hell. More importantly, it proves once again that Rory has a remarkable ear for chemistry.
