Drake and Kendrick continue trading historic milestones.
Drake has officially joined Kendrick Lamar as the only rappers in Spotify history to surpass 100 million monthly listeners.
The funny thing is, this feels like a recurring pattern at this point. Whenever Kendrick hits a major record, Drake usually has something similar going on, and vice versa. It’s like they’re permanently linked in streaming history.
Drake’s current surge is being driven by his latest trio of releases: ICEMAN, MAID OF HONOUR, and HABIBTI. However, the bigger story might be his catalog strength. Older albums like Take Care, Views, and Certified Lover Boy are still performing at a high level, showing that his entire discography continues to generate massive global streaming numbers.
Kendrick Lamar also hit the 100 million monthly listener threshold during the height of his GNX era, powered by tracks like “luther,” “tv off,” and “Not Like Us,” which dominated streaming platforms and cultural conversation.
Currently, Kendrick sits at around 69 million+ monthly listeners, which is still elite.
At the end of the day, these two continue operating in a tier of streaming dominance that no one else has consistently reached.
