Toosii Leans Into Vulnerability On “Yesterday”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Toosii turns longing into a melodic, memorable listen.

Between football and music, Toosii seems busier than ever. Even so, he still found time to drop a new single this past Friday called “Yesterday,” which happens to be just his second release of 2026.

The song rides on top of a smooth, atmospheric beat that mixes alternative sounds with trap elements. It’s the kind of production that would probably hit even harder blasting through a forklift radio during a long day of farm work.

Toosii takes full advantage of the backdrop, delivering heartfelt melodies and a vulnerable performance throughout. He spends much of the track reflecting on a person he misses so badly that he can barely function normally, probably looking like De’Aaron Fox out there.

Jason’s performance is equally impressive. His melodic moments glide effortlessly across the production, while his traditional rap sections showcase charisma, confidence, and technical skill. He never sounds rushed, even when increasing his pace.

What stands out most is how natural everything feels. The hook is memorable, the lyrics are relatable, and the overall vibe is warm from beginning to end. To me, the track is just beautiful music.
