Rod Wave’s next chapter officially has a release date.
On August 28, the hitmaker will return with DON’T LOOK DOWN, his first album since Last Lap arrived in 2024. Although Rod released songs like “Feed the Streets” and “Leavin” over the last couple of years, he largely kept a low profile. With this announcement, the drought is over.
The rollout began with a trailer that immediately stood out from the crowd. Instead of a simple teaser, Rod delivered a cinematic visual centered around what appears to be a mob-controlled funeral. The concept creates a sense of suspense while hinting at deeper themes that could be explored throughout the album.
We also received a brief preview of new music. The snippet features a flip of Ye’s “Last Call,” which is probably the greatest hip-hop outro ever.
The artwork continues the serious tone. Rod is shown wearing a suit and tie, leaning against a wall with a visibly exhausted expression.
While the tracklist and guest appearances remain under wraps, DON’T LOOK DOWN already feels like one of the most anticipated releases on Rod Wave’s schedule.
