Tyla Earns Three New U.S. Platinum and Gold Certifications

Tyla earns three new U.S. certifications as “Water” reaches 4× Platinum and momentum continues growing worldwide.

Tyla is having one hell of a week.

Fresh off performing at the WNBA All-Star Game, appearing on Kai Cenat’s latest stream during a trip to Disney World, and releasing her latest album, A*POP, the South African superstar has now added even more milestones to her résumé. This week, Tyla earned three new RIAA certifications in the United States, led by “Water,” which is now certified 4× Platinum. She also picked up Gold certifications for “ART” and “PUSH 2 START.”

The biggest takeaway here isn’t just the plaques themselves. It’s the fact that these certifications came in the United States. Breaking into the American market is difficult for any international artist, and Tyla has managed to do it while staying true to the sound that made her a global star in the first place.

The momentum doesn’t appear to be slowing down, either. Songs like “CHANEL” and “IS IT” are already building plenty of steam across streaming platforms, making it easy to believe more certifications are on the horizon. If she continues releasing music at this level while expanding her audience, this probably won’t be the last time we’re talking about Tyla adding new plaques to her collection (Shoutout to Chart Data for finding this info out).
