Will it actually come out this time?

Erykah Badu and The Alchemist are giving their long-teased collaborative album another shot, with the project now scheduled to arrive August 28. The only problem? It still doesn’t have an official title.

The announcement comes with the hilariously honest placeholder, “SORRY, WE DON’T HAVE AN ALBUM TITLE YET …” because apparently we have made it all the way to another release date without figuring that part out.

This project has been floating around for quite some time. In fact, Erykah Badu and The Alchemist originally announced the album for August 29, 2025, meaning we are approaching a full year since its first scheduled release date. At the time, the project was expected to be called ABI & ALAN, while the duo had already released “Next To You” as a preview of what they were cooking.

Obviously, August 29, 2025 came and went without the album. Now, it has a new release date, a new identity, and apparently no title. So, naturally, all we can do is cross our fingers and see if this thing actually makes it out this time.

In other news, Badu recently also shared a vintage-style photo with Lauryn Hill, adding another layer of nostalgia to the timing. Hill has also been discussing a potential return with The Fugees. Maybe we can get a Fugees x The Alchemist x Erykah Badu collab on one of the projects? Hmm…

I will be extremely shocked if this album comes out on August 28th. I hope I’m wrong.
