The Roots Tease “Endgame,” Their First Full-Length Album In Over A Decade

After more than a decade, The Roots might finally be ready to dust off the album machine.

The Roots could be making one of the biggest returns in music this year with Endgame, their first full-length project in over a decade.

In a year where several legacy acts are making comebacks, The Roots potentially reemerging as a recording act might be the biggest surprise of them all. While the legendary group has remained pretty active, most notably through their role on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, we haven’t gotten much new music from them lately.

Their last major project was …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, which arrived way back in 2014. That makes the possibility of a new album particularly exciting for longtime fans who have been waiting patiently for another full-length from one of hip-hop’s most respected groups.

Black Thought has certainly kept busy during that time, including making an appearance on The Game’s latest album, The Documentary III. Still, there’s nothing quite like hearing The Roots operate as a complete unit.

So, what will Endgame sound like? I have absolutely no clue. What I do know is that we can probably guarantee fantastic raps, organic production, and some impressive guest appearances. After all, everyone f**ks with The Roots.
