Donovan Mitchell is a very lucky man.
Coco Jones is stepping into her newly married era, but when it comes to her music, nothing has changed. She’s still bringing the vocals, and “Love Me Through” is another strong example of what makes her such a standout in R&B. The latest single arrives as she seemingly prepares for a new album, and it gives us plenty to enjoy in the meantime.
You know what immediately came to mind when I heard this? Jazmine Sullivan. The dramatic chords and drums create this big, emotional atmosphere that feels right in that lane, while Coco uses the production as a platform for one of her more passionate performances.
She sings about being loved by someone whose devotion doesn’t waver, even when things get complicated. That kind of love makes her want to give everything she has in return, and Coco sells that emotion beautifully. Her vocals are strong without feeling forced, and there’s a warmth underneath the power that really makes the song connect.
“Love Me Through” feels like the perfect soundtrack for someone who has found their forever person. It’s romantic without becoming overly sugary, and Coco’s voice gives the whole thing enough emotional muscle to stand tall.
I’m excited to see where she takes this sound next.
