A shimmering pop confession about craving unconditional love while allowing insecurity to push it dangerously close to the edge.
VALDIS is preparing to release her debut EP in 2027, and I’m excited to see where her career goes. The reason is simple: she has the kind of flair that screams pop star. Her latest single, “lose myself,” knocks it out of the park and makes that potential even harder to ignore.
The song explores the conflicting emotions that surface when you love someone deeply but remain controlled by your own insecurities. VALDIS pushes that person away, tests the limits of the relationship, and still hopes they will choose to stay through everything.
Her vocal performance blew me away. VALDIS sounds emotional, passionate, and truly dynamic, moving through the song like she’s strapped into a roller coaster that refuses to slow down. Every change in tone makes the internal conflict feel more immediate.
Producer Hákon Guðni Hjartarson supports her with atmospheric Scandinavian pop production, a lively tempo, and gorgeous synths that give the record shine. Co-written by VALDIS, Hjartarson, and Klara Ósk Elíasdóttir, “lose myself” offers an exciting first look at her forthcoming EP. The track simply hits from every angle.
