Do you know who J/O/E reminds me of? Obie Trice. Rap seems to come naturally to both artists, and they are outstanding at delivering effortlessly clever punchlines. If you are new to J/O/E, “Knock Knock” is an excellent introduction to what he brings to the table.
“Knock Knock” is powered by hard-hitting production with a unique, circus-like vibe. The haunting sample makes a strong impact, giving the beat a playful yet slightly menacing character that sets it apart from standard rap production.
As for J/O/E, he delivers a verse packed with tricky flows that are harder to tame than Bijan Robinson in open space. His high-level punchlines land cleanly, while his confident delivery makes every boast sound believable. Lyrically, he is as competitive as ever, talking about stiff-arming his competition, making major noise, and being one of the most stylish guys anyone will ever meet.
In a hip-hop game that sometimes feels a bit stale, “Knock Knock” showcases some well-needed creativity.
