Miley dropped her last name, kept the commercial power, and collected another No. 1.
Miley can officially add an achievement to her latest reinvention: Bass Persuades has reached No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes albums chart.
The milestone gives Miley’s 10th studio album an encouraging start and suggests that people are rocking with her new chapter.
Stylistically, Bass Persuades moves between club-ready production and romantic, vulnerable songwriting, allowing Miley to explore another direction without completely abandoning the versatility that has shaped her career.
The release also carries symbolic importance. Following Something Beautiful, Miley chose to issue the album solely under her first name. Watching the first project from that rebrand immediately climb to the top of U.S. iTunes has to feel gratifying.
Interest extends beyond digital sales. Miley will celebrate the album with two Hollywood Bowl performances on October 16 and 18. Nearly 1.5 million fans reportedly entered the presale queue, underscoring that public demand for her live return remains incredibly strong.
An iTunes No. 1 does not carry the same weight as a Billboard No. 1, but it still provides an encouraging snapshot of the releases connecting most strongly with listeners. Considering that early momentum, the album appears positioned for an excellent Billboard debut—and possibly the top spot.
Miley changed her professional name, entered another sonic era, and immediately earned a No. 1. Reinvention continues to look remarkably comfortable on her.
